Corporate Identity Project: Frisky

This was a corporate identity project whereby a concept business was to constructed, followed by the corporate identiy to support that business. I devised a company that caters to the tourism industry in South Africa. The concept was a line of luxuary buses which provided accommodation as well as tours of popular coastlines/ mountainous areas and nature reserves in South Africa.
I chose the Meerkat as the official mascot of the business, as it is an animal that reflects fun, playfulness, energy and a sense of adventure. As far as animals that are typically used to promote South africa, most would recognise the 'Big Five' - (Lions, Rhinos, Elephants, Leopards, Buffalo). The tourism industry in South Africa is saturated with images of these animals. I wanted to use something different.
Thanks to the popular Discovery Channel show, 'Meerkat Manor', awareness of these remarkable creature has spread dramatically and it has become clear that these animals are recognised as uniquelly South African and are universally popular. I felt that they would be perfect for the look and feel I was attempting to acheive with this project.
